Vectorworks to Twinmotion Direct Link Issues

Anelisa

Question

Hello!

I am currently working on an Alienware PC M15 R7 AMD Windows 11. I am using Vectorworks Spotlight 2023 and Twinmotion Version 2024.1

I want to use direct link for my model I just finished in Vectorworks to render it in Twinmotion. In the Datasmith Direct Link Preferences, I have set the output path to default. I export the model and I can see the folder in the custom path. When I open to Twinmotion and try to import the Direct Link File, It says no sources available. I am not understanding why this is. How can I fix this?

I have tried Uninstalling and reinstalling Twinmotion. I have also tried in Vectorworks to set the output path to a custom file and I'm still having the same problem.

Please help and thank you all in advance

@Anelisa  I have had good success with Direct Link between VW and TM.   In Vectorworks I usually change the Unreal Settings output folder from the default to a subfolder in the same directory as my VW file I'm working on then click the "Direct Link Auto Sync" .   In TM if it doesn't find the link automatically then it is easy to find.

Having the VW and TM objects all in the same project folder also makes it easy to put everything on a USB drive and take it back and forth between home and work.
