Positive Space Design
Hello, I have attached a screenshot of a stair i'm developing. I want to add 2 intermittent landings in the curved section of the stairs, screenshot attached with the landings in blue, in the OIP I do not see an option for adding a landing. Neither in the Geometry, Genereal or Construction tab. Is anyone familiar with this design challenge? Thank you! Edited June 19, 2024 by Positive Space Design addtional info Quote Link to comment
shorter
I seriously urge you to try to model it and then make a symbol. Pure modelling is great fun and you generally get what you want. Ok, so you don't get the parametrics, but who cares!? Quote Link to comment
taoist
What about the Custom Stair tool? Quote Link to comment
DBrown
The stair has a ton of features, but flexibility is not one of them, if you want to do a great stair, don't use the Stair tool of Vectorworks, model your own, but take into account you will spend several hours doing so 2 Quote Link to comment
Positive Space Design
Thanks all for your comments. I figured I would need to either build a custom stair or model it from scratch. Quote Link to comment
taoist
FWIW Jonathan Reeves video on custom stairs. 1 Quote Link to comment

Jonthan's method would work well for @Positive Space Design as it is based on the standard 3D tools. Just for comparison, this is the NURBS tools method. Although it uses less geometry and faster, it does bring with it a new learning curve. Note the key is to create a flat spiralling curve. 1 Quote Link to comment
