Tomas Lohin
Hello, how do I make light souce itself visible in Spotlight? Not just emitted light hitting surfaces or fog, but the source itself i.e. fluorescent tube. I'm pretty sure it is trivial, but I can not figure it out. Thanks Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
There is a setting in VW Preference for when to show light objects. You probably have it set to Wireframe or Never. Quote Link to comment
Tomas Lohin
Thank you for an answer, but this doesn't do the trick for me. Can someone please look at my sample file and check my settings? thanks light source not shown.vwx Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Do you mean like this? Or do you want to see the bodies of the fixtures better? light source not shown~.vwx Quote Link to comment
Tomas Lohin
Primarily what you've done! What is the trick? I suppose it is not in general settings, because if I add some different fixture into your file, the source is still not shown. (Seeing bodies better could become handy too in the future.) Alexander Thiel
Hey Tomas, if you take a deeper look into the Fixtures itself (Edit 3D Part), you can see that the lenses got textures. In this case it is called "Instrument Lens Glow", which emits light. Best Alex Quote Link to comment
Tomas Lohin
Yes. This is a "kind of" solution. But it doesn't reflect a color set to a light fixture and not even if it is on or off. Is there a way to see proper color and on/off state? Quote Link to comment
aheininen
Tomas, take a look from here. You can get lens glow to reflect color of beam. Also on/off state is achievable. 2 Quote Link to comment
michaelk
@mjm @aheininen That's a much better way of doing that!!! Quote Link to comment
