Tomas Lohin
Hi. How do I distribute lighting devices on i.e. round truss, a non-linear pipe, 2D polygon or 3D object? In cases straight line of Align/Distribute tool is not the solution? Quote Link to comment
VIRTUALENVIRONS
This may be a two step process for your problem. Duplicate Along a Path was designed for this, but you need to extract or create a path on the solid object. Post a file with a description of what you want to do? It will be easier to help. JBenghiat
There is not currently a tool for this. A number of solutions exist for creating/duplicating around an arc, but not for distributing existing objects. My solution has been to use the lighting pipe's tick marks. In the case of a truss, I insert a Lighting Pipe along a chord and turn off the "Draw pipe" option, which leaves only the tick marks. I have a script which distributes along an arc, but last I checked a bug in VW made it crash when picking the center point. 2 1 Quote Link to comment

It would be nice to have possibility to draw tickmarks directly on a truss object. Now I use your workaround, if you don't mind 🙂 Quote Link to comment
