Darcy Cook
Hi All, I'm wanting to display the braceworks calculations on hoists using Mass (Kg) rather than force (Kn) - is there a way to change this so it displays KG in the hoist's ID Label? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee TomWhiteLight Posted June 5, 2024 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted June 5, 2024 Force is always going to be measured in KN and brace works will always display force in KN. To get the point loadings (mass/weight) you can create a worksheet and convert the values. Remember you can do math in VW worksheets so you might be able to automate that process with some spreadsheet formula. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee jcogdell Posted June 6, 2024 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted June 6, 2024 The load on the hoist can be displayed either as a force or as a weight. However this can't be displayed in the hoists basic ID label you have to use a data tag. There are default tags in the library that display the hoist's ID and weight. You can also create your own. If you want to create your own tag or worksheet to display the total load force (including the hoists own weight) in kg, use the 'High Hook Weight Equivalent (formated)' property and make sure that your document units is set to kg. If you use the unformatted version then it will display in grams and need to be covnerted. If you want the force acting on the hoist (without its own weight) use the low hook version. 1 Quote Link to comment
