BRSebbe
Greetings I've been trying to edit some hoist symbols to reflect our local suppliers actual hoists, in terms of chainlength, brand, etc What i've done is i've taken a working hoist symbol, duplicated the HoistObjectData Record, edited the parts i want to edit, but when i try to then attach that record to the symbol, it turns into a 2d/3d symbol instead of a hoist object. I know i am missing something, but what? Quote Link to comment
spettitt
The best way to do this is to start with the Hoist Symbol stored in the Resource Manager, right click it and select 'Attach Record'. Despite it's name, this is also the command used to edit record field values of an existing record attached to a Symbol resource. In the pop up, select and edit values of the chosen record (HoistObjectData). No need to duplicate. In there, change the values to the chain length, brand etc as desired. At this point, I'd be sure to rename the Symbol resource as well so you know it's a customised version. If you then use the Hoist tool to insert this resource in the drawing, the fields in the OIP will populate based on your chosen values. 1 Quote Link to comment
