Vectorworks 3D Squared Spiral Staircase

Hello,

 

Does anybody know how to build a squared spiral staircase in Vectorworks 2024? I've only been able to build a round one with the 3D stairs tool...

I think you’ll have to build it using direct 3D modeling - meaning that the built in stair tools will not be able to do what you want, but you can use the Stair tool spiral stair as a guide.
 

You could use the Stair tool to make a round spiral stair which has an oversized diameter so that it hits the outside points of the square. Then you can convert the Stair object to a Group and trim the treads to fit inside your square footprint. You’ll have to manually create the stringers, etc.

This Is the closest I could get using the old Custom Stair, from here you can ungroup and finish modeling it. HTH

Thank you so much!! It seems like I can't edit the stairs with a double click and ungrouping makes it disappear straight away...

With the Custom Stair selected in a 3D view <Control U> (PC) <Command U> (Mac) > OK converts to 3d objects Extrudes and 3D Polygons, this allows to edit the individual pieces. HTH
