Strange Insertion Behavior

While participating in the Spotlight Certification Class, I noticed some unusual behavior.

 

Specifically, lighting fixtures do not follow the curser as expected, and the stage deck is not inserted at the correct location.  I'm at a loss as to what may be happening.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Update- Lighting Tool issue seems to be a Mac-related problem.

Can you pinpoint which step you're following in which video? Can you provide a timestamp so we can see the steps you're replicating? Since inserting items can be affected by many settings, it's a guessing game when viewing a test file.

Section 303 - when entering the stage deck via the "Stage Deck" tool.  I ended up just creating the stage using the "Create Stage" method to remedy the problem. 

 

Section 306 - Inserting lighting symbol via the "Lighting Device" tool.  That is where I am now.

 

Note:  The behavior is absent in other projects using the same machine.

UPDATE - Lighting Device has no issue.  It was a setting in the preferences.

 

The Stage Deck tool is still acting up.
