GatRed
Hi ! I’m trying to use Redshift, because there are so much improvements with the last versions, that is starting to be really great. I’ve got one big issue : the metallic textures. I don’t manage to make the metallic textures working with redshift. The preview in the "edit texture" window is so much different with how it is rendered . With Renderworks it is OK, bus the redshift, it looks like a mate painting. Did I miss something ? Is there a way to make a metallic texture with Redshift ? VW-Redshift metal comparisons.vwx Quote Link to comment

We are actively working to remove differences between the various rendering modes moving forward. 1 Quote Link to comment
GatRed
@Dave Donley, Thank you for this crystal clear answer. So, I encourage you and the Vectorworks development team to enhance the redshift render engine for those kind of details. It is really really promising. For architectures, reflections and transparencies and metallic / brushed aspects are really important to show materials in an image. 👍 1 Quote Link to comment
grant_PD
Would love to see vectorworks upgrade/change the texturing to a PBR workflow. 16 bit raw images, normal maps, etc.... Keep the shaders they are fun too! 4 Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee dlopez-gutierrez Posted May 28 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted May 28 I change the render style to redshift exterior final to make a fair comparison between RS and Final Quality Renderworks, This is the rendering if I change to native RS material, with exactly the same parameters from the Edit Metallic Shader Dialog, can this be consider better? GatRed
Sure it is better. I don’t manage to do that with the Redshift exterior finall render style. How do I make a "native RS material" ? 1 hour ago, dlopez-gutierrez said: I change the render style to redshift exterior final to make a fair comparison between RS and Final Quality Renderworks, This is the rendering if I change to native RS material, with exactly the same parameters from the Edit Metallic Shader Dialog, can this be consider better?
