haehyeonhong
Hello, I am the person who is lighting in Korea. We are working with Vision and GrandMA2 or 3, but there is a problem if it is a Chinese-made lighting machine. If the Blade(Shapers) part, which was possible in Fixure Mode, is called to GDTF, it is not possible. To address this, I have checked the writings and methods of several forums, but they have continued to fail. Is there a solution? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee bbudzon Posted May 13 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted May 13 If I'm understanding correctly, the shutters are working with the Fixture Mode but not with the GDTF Fixture Mode. Would you mind telling me which Fixture Mode works and which GDTF Fixture Mode is broken? This way, we can do some internal testing. From a quick glance at the code, it would seem that GDTF Fixture Mode doesn't support Shutters in Vision. But, Fixture Mode does. So, this may explain why you are seeing what you are seeing. But, I'd like to confirm this with testing. Quote Link to comment
haehyeonhong
Thank you for your answer. When I tested, all GDTF MODE did not have SHUTTER working. I tried SPOT LIGHT's GDTF provided by ROBE and SPOT LIGHT's GDTF provided by MARTIN, but it was not possible. I've been using VISION since 2020, and I was also upset by this phenomenon. Is there any room for updates? Quote Link to comment

Which Fixture Mode allowed this to be possible? Which GDTF Fixture Mode from Robe/Martin was causing you issues? Having this information will allow me to test more easily. Thanks! haehyeonhong
I downloaded Robin BMFL Blade on the robe site and tried it. Please check it. Robe_Lighting@Robin_BMFL_Blade@2023-08-07__Reupload_to_share_2.gdtf 1 Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee bbudzon Posted May 15 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted May 15 I can confirm after going through the application and testing that DMX Controlled Shutters are not supported in Vision. I'm looking into what might be needed to get this working. Quote Link to comment
haehyeonhong
It hasn't been possible for a very long time. I want to work this out. Please help. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee bbudzon Posted May 17 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted May 17 The workaround would be to use the non-GDTF content. This is the Fixture Mode in VW. And, Vision should support blades/shutters just fine for those. I'm looking into the code to determine what is needed to add support for this. I'm not sure how easy it will be or when it will be ready. I'll do my best to keep this thread updated! 1 Quote Link to comment
