Webdav / Version Control

Fred Hubnik

Question

I'd like to request WebDav support or even some sort of proprietary version control system. Adobe uses an enhanced version of WebDav for their Version Cue system in their new CS applications. Third party apps can tap into Adobe's Version Cue system by implementing the WebDav protocol in their app. Maybe looking into how Version Cue works exactly would be a good place to start. Macromedia's Dreamweaver also uses WebDav for version control, though not as sophistcated as Adobe's implementation.

Some form of version control in Vectorworks would be nice.

If your on Mac Os X then support for WebDAV is built in to the system, it is useable like any file server.

and Vectorworks will see the files just like it see files on other servers.

how best to stablely use the function of WebDAV server with VW is something we have been investigating in our office for a while.

but we haven't done enough testing to say if its relieable.

is anyone else out there "Playing" with WebDAV?

would be interesting to hear?
