Hi,
When I go to change the visibilities of a viewport I often need to change (and or check) both layers and classes.  Could you incorporate a button that could swap between layer visibilities and class visibilities in the Viewport (layer or class) Propories window, please?  Like how when editing a hybrid symbol you can easily change between 2D and 3D on the right click menu.

Thanks,

Nic

can't you do what you want already, changing the layers and classes on a single or several viewports at the same time? Am I misunderstanding something?

this is a completely different interface than the one you are in to edit layer visibilities so if you hit layers then need to adjact classes, or indeed realise you want to change a bunch of viewports you have to close one dialogue open another.

In contrast to a more modern tool with title blocks, most of the buttons take you to the same dialogue, add a revision then decide you also want an issue added at this time, or the project name/address needs an edit just jump between tabs in the same interface.

sure, but if you need to edit several viewports, why not use the Organization dialog box? you can open this dialog box by double clicking in the Navigation palette.

I guess i don't understand why you need new way to do this when you have a way to do it...

I think the question is about the “Edit Class/Layer” buttons in the Object Information Palette of viewports.

So often one needs to switch between the Edit Class/Layer dialogs to change visibilities in viewports. Currently, you need to click OK and then click on the other’s button to open the next dialog.

Having an extra “Edit Class/Layers” button (perhaps next to the “preview” button) would save a click. A small wish but a helpful one.

I find the Organisation palette a bit of a pain to get to. I invariably have it set to 'Details' rather than 'Visibilities' plus you have to go through a big long list of VPs to find the one you're interested in (assuming you've named them all correctly).

@Jesse Cogswell wrote a script that generates what's essentially a version of the VP visibilities pane of the Organisation palette but it is a lot quicker to summon it up + the currently selected VP will be pre-loaded:

I wonder whether VW couldn't do the same + combine layers + classes in the same dialog: is there a reason for separating them? Otherwise I agree with the wish, it should be easier to toggle between them.

I would love to be able to toggle - or just have them both on the same menu - like in this script "set viewport visibilities" (that I think @Jesse Cogswell wrote...).

The script is not perfect - but a hell of a lot more convenient than clicking out of the viewport and back and forth between the two menus every time you want to change a class or Layer visibility.

Also having the classes and Layers side-by-side!!!!

I do wish you could preview.

Oh Man, thank you for posting.  This is going to be a game changer.  Thanks @Jesse Cogswell for building this!
