Reference Marker Fills

Cloud Hidden

Question

Sometimes I make a reference marker solid so that the drawing beneath doesn't show through. But that also gives the text a solid fill, and depending on the font used, it whites out part of the marker itself. If the reference marker is solid, the text should still be transparent so that none of the marker is obliterated.

Yes. I've reported this a bunch of times. Maybe it will be fixed in the next release? In the meantime, here's a work-around: create a solid filled object of the same size and shape as your marker and place it exactly behind the marker. Set the marker fill to "none". Group the two together. To edit the marker (like for a different detail callout) just double-click to enter the group, select the marker and edit via the OI palette, then exit the group. Slightly cumbersome but it works.
