Pick levels from the top of a mesh object

Recommended Posts

I have some mesh objects a bit like hardscapes imported from Revit, unfortunately with a thickness, so levels are replicated on the underside.  I think I know the answer to this, but is there any way of picking up the top surface only to get information for a site model?

Hi.  Well to start with, if you ungroup this file you will see it is several meshes or poly-surfaces.  This changes things as far as a mesh, but may make your task easier..

So first ungroup the file.  Then convert them all to 3D polygons.  Ungroup the conversion, turn to a side view and Marquee select the top polygons.

Hope this works out for you
