jason schneider
I know I'm in the weeds here, but are wall modifications points allowed to be directly on top of one another? I simply cannot get a 90 degree line. If yes, how is this accomplished? If no, confirm this is not possible and I will stop beating my head against the wall. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
Tom W.
I have noticed this. I think it's just the way it is. It feels 'wrong' but doesn't seem to cause any issues: everything looks correct afterwards... Just to be clear: you're talking about using the Edit Wall tool right? Quote Link to comment
jason schneider
Thanks for the response. Yes, the Wall Edit tool. Just happy to hear I'm not the only one. I can get super uptight when dimensions don't work out and lines are thrown off by .001" Probably more of an issue for my therapist. Cheers! shorter
Use Fit Walls to Objects instead? 1 Quote Link to comment

(The two green boxes are solids placed in the wall to test the "Fit to Objects" approach.) I believe you would need to use a 'dummy' object in a hidden class or layer to do it. But @shorter is right: this way you will achieve vertical sides to the cut-out if you want to save some sessions with your therapist! Personally I reshape Walls all the time using the Edit Wall tool + have never had any ill effects as a result of the sides being off-plumb i.e. everything looks correct in the viewports whether 3D views, elevations or sections. It just 'feels' wrong when you're doing it... 2 Quote Link to comment
