NEED WOOD FRAME BEAM CALC

Hi All,

When I upgraded to VW's Industry Series 10.0.1, I was told by the NNA sales rep that there was a "Simple Beam" calc menu item. This was (among other things) a really BIG selling point. As it turns out, the "Simple Beam" calc seems to be intended for steel tubing, as opposed to more common wood framing members.

I think it would be great to have the ability to do basic wood framing header & beam calcs in VW's. Especially since for Mac, there isn't really a good program out there. Could you please add this to the wish list???

Archfoms makes a great product for beam sizing that I have been using for years. It's a template that runs within MS Excel - (and yes, it does run on the Mac) Here's a link:

The Archforms product, Maxbeam, is quite good. I have had my structural engineer glance at it and he thought it was quite nice. I really like the amount of information it gives you about each solution.
