The "cut 3d section" was always a big potential, limited by the sloppy implementation - the new cut model is a huge group of basic polygons. Editing the cut model is almost impossible.
Today I found out that the cut model also lose the textures that were in it before using the "cut 3d section" command. I believe that it is another aspect of breaking the model into such basic 3d elements. In those days, when everything is rendered, it looks like a command that survived from MiniCad days, without growing with other parts of the software.
