issue editing text

I create text paragraph , no problem . Go back to edit it , doesn't  allow me to edit any text ?  vwx 2024 , Mac OS

I assume you have used the text tool, or double click on the text with the selection tool?

yes , it is odd , just like I do very day . No luck yesterday . Went bal today , tried again, worked. Odd

I've just installed Vectorworks 2024 on my M1 MacBook Pro.

 

I can create a text field on a design layer and write out the text. However when I go back into the text box the cursor moves to the bottom of the text box and can only be moved around with the arrow keys, text cannot be selected with the mouse or the position of the cursor moved by the mouse. The problem is intermittent, some text boxes are fine and others have this behaviour.

 

This seems like a bug in the software. Am I missing something?

There was another thread on this yesterday. The decision there was that it could not possibly be by design.

 

Please submit an official bug report to get this on the tracking radar.

Hi,

I noticed problems with textfields

if there are empty lines at the end of textfields.

I mean you press enter/return and don‘t write text.

If in the last line is some text,

the textfiles works much better.

 

Can you please send some examples?

I tested the behavior.

 

I would say it is definitely an issue with empty lines at

the end of textfields.

 

If I delete the empty lines, the textfield works for me.

 

by-the-way:

I wrote some bugreport about this issue,

but I haven't got a response from VW Inc.
