A hoist when inserted into the drawing has the possibility to add a "pick-up" symbol. If a symbol corresponding to the truss the hoist is connected to is selected this gives a nice round sling to the drawing and adjusts the hoist height according to the sling length. It is possible to add custom symbols to the selection list so you have your slinging methods fitting your truss.
But a hoist has two ends, currently, Vectorworks does not handle the other end, and yes I have tried the "Bridle Tool". This is great when you actually build bridles and advanced stuff, but for a gig with 100 hoists and 7 different hanging positions in the venue, it would be great to be able to add some symbols to each hoist to visualize the hanging but also count the parts.
This would be a lot quicker than the bridle tool, as it is possible to select multiple hoists and add the "pick-up" symbol or the "Top Rigging" symbol. As always, being able to customize the symbols is great, but for the most part, it is not needed to visualize the top rigging but to get good help to count all necessary parts.
As a suggestion, the standard library could just be a 2m sling with a double shackle at its max beam size to not have angles greater than 90'.
And it is VERY important that it is not necessary to attach the top hook to anything. It still should be able to just have them all sky-hooked!

One thing I miss with the functions described above is to be able to have a record attached to the pick-up symbol and in the end have a report count all parts used in that pick-up. As described in my post: https://forum.vectorworks.net/index.php?/topic/112031-hoist-pick-up-symbol/#comment-487585
