Seperate Forum for Windows Users

wdickert

Question

A lot of the problems with VW9 seem to be OS or hardware specific, yet a majority of the posts make no mention of what platform or hardware configuration the program is running under. For Windows users (and I assume Mac users too) these are important considerations when trying to debug a problem. So how about seperate forums for each operating system.

That would probably only make matters worse, as most issues and bugs are software-related, since the core of the app is the same. There are of course issues that are OS/hardware related, but generally involve mostly rendering, and even then are more reliant on the kind of video accelerator that one is using, rather than the Windows vs. Mac, issue.

Still, your point is valid, and there should be an extra box similar to those below (Smiles, Signature, Mac/Win) would be a good inclusion for easier communication and clarification of possible hardware related issues.

There are enough differences between the Mac OS and Wintel platforms that a "Windows" group is an excellent idea. In the meanwhile, adding Windows and Mac message icons would help distinguish OS-related posts.

I would also like to see a forum for those of us who have to deal specifically with interoperability (import/export) with AutoCAD, ArchiCAD and other non-NNA products.

As IT Manager for a custom home builder, we often have to deal with details from Architects, Engineers, Vendors and consultants who use a variety of CADD packages, especially Autodesk products.
