'Fill across plant grouping' not working correctly

I am trying to create rows of plants drawn in Landmark with the Plant under poly edged spaced mode. I can apply the fill across plant grouping but it only works correctly if the line is straight - if I have any corners or bends the fill is just extended across that bend. Previously I have done this action with no problem on a variety of drawings but in 2023 there seems to be a bug unless I am doing something wrong.  Very frustrating!

 

Running landmark 2023 SP5 (which made no difference to SP4 with this problem) on Mac Ventura 13.3.1. Everything is up to date.

I'm running Vectorworks 2023.SP5 and i'n not having that issue. Does this also occur in a new blank file?

 

What do you see when you select the plants and activate the Reshape tool?

My issue has mostly been with groups of plants using triangular array.  Sometimes when I select "apply fill across plant grouping," it looks fine... and other times it just doesn't.

Some plant symbols will work for me, some won't. See screengrab below

I've definitely ticked that box, but the red ones refuse to do it.
