Keyboard Input Focus

I think there needs to be a better way to "focus" the keyboard input on different palettes or windows. For example, after carefully selecting a number of walls to edit their heights in the OI palette, it is cumbersome to mouse over to a menu command for each of the isometric views. Hitting the numeric keypad for the views is not possible because the mouse needs to click first on the drawing window -- but that DESELECTS all the walls!

I don't disagree, but even in 8.5.2 there's a pretty workable solution. Clicking in the drawing will, as you say, deselect all the selected items. But if you hold down the Shift key, you'll keep the old selection (as well as add anything that you happen to click on), and focus will again return to the drawing.

Yes! This is indeed a current workaround! Thank you.

There are other situations, of course, so I hope there will be a universal solution in the next version. How about Command-Tilde like the MS internet apps?

The enter key should move the focus out of the object info palette. The tab key should move the focus into the next field. This is standard behaviour in many programs.
