Interior Elevations

I would really like to see the ability to automatically create interior elevations, prefereably a linked elevation. Right now you can only get exterior.

In fact, it would be really nice to be able to marquee select an area on the drawing so that the specified area can be linked, whether for an interior elevation or for an enlarged plan.

Thank you for your suggestion. We here at Nemetschek North America are always attentive to customer suggestions. Over the years the bulk of all improvements to the MiniCad and VectorWorks programs have come from customer requests.

This will be entered into our wish list and evaluated by our design team as a potential enhancement for the future.

I second this request. That capability would be hugely helpful.

Its possible to make exterior wall classes invisible and even moderately transparent.

No additional code is required.

Janis, I use the Section Viewport tool to create interior elevations. Create a polygon using the polygon fill tool to define the boundary of the rooms, and use that to clip the viewport. I'm not sure how a dedicated interior elevation tool could be faster and more efficient. What is needed right now is a series of refinements to the Section Viewport tool.

One of the biggest problems with this method is common to all Viewports - the additional filesize overhead associated with the Viewport cache.
