Flopping Flailing and Failing with moving a reference file...

Trying to work with GIS info.

 

So, I've downloaded a city wide map of parcels. I'm keeping these in a separate VW file to manage geometry and file size. 

 

I then reference the files with the parcel boundaries to my main file. The origin of the parcel imported information corresponds to some GIS mapping origin and doesn't relate to anything in my main file. But I think it's best to keep everything in the refenced file as is so that incase I wish to import new information, everything will land appropriately. 

 

So, in my main file, how do I move the referenced file closer to the file origin where I need it?

So I ended up creating a symbol in the first file and using that in the main file.

 

Not the ideal workflow. I can't imagine this working well if one was working on separate building on one site.
