I hope that the VW development team will look into a reference file clip command.
This would be a great tool for creating plan details or any other detail drawings from an already existing drawing file.
Take a look at Microstation or AutoCad for an example. Theses are very often used features in both programs. As a matter of fact AutoCad copied this function from Microstation.
