Reyn Tan
Hi I'm using Vectorworks Design Suite V2023, and I'm trying apply a texture on the outer face of an object. The texture appears to be inverted/inside out, as if the texture is facing inwards of the solid. I've tried changing the mapping style form as well, according to an older post on the forum but I realise that they might be talking about rotation issue instead of an inversion like what I'm facing. https://ibb.co/g4mr8m8 - Image of "inverted" texture (with face mapping)https://ibb.co/QHTn71M - Correct dark green texture on the inside of the object (without face mapping) Is there any way to fix this? I'm not sure if I am doing something wrong with the mapping tool that is causing this issue. Thanks so much! Reyn Quote Link to comment
BartH
Hmm. It is hard to tell what's happening here, Could you share a file? It is possible the surface normal is facing inward somehow. How was the geometry built? Could you reverse the direction of your control curves/source geometry?? Is it possible the lighting is just making it look like the texture is facing inward? Maybe add a point light below the widest part of the shape and see if that illuminates the green coloring. Bart Quote Link to comment
rDesign
As Bart said- it's hard to tell from the screenshots, but it might be related to the issue discussed in this thread below-- where RW textures with alpha channels appear 'inverted' between Shaded view and Renderworks views. Does it look correct if you render with Renderworks (not Shaded)? Quote Link to comment
