Data tags don't link to extruded objects?

Hi,

 

I've recently started using data tags to show the perimeter and area of spaces for calculation pages. At first, I thought I could link the tag to extrudes, but now whenever I link it to the selected object, it just displays as 0 for both perimeter and area. It works occasionally but more often it doesn't work. I am having to copy the polyline and link the tags to that instead but it would be more convenient if I could eliminate that step and simply link it to an extrude.

Any reason as to why this could be happening?

Extrudes don't really have a perimeter or an area.  As you stated you have to duplicate the original poly and use that.

 

Or were you using Space Objects previously? Those contain extra code to allow you to get the perimeter and area.

You can use the worksheet functions #WS_AREA# and #WS_PERIM#. I attached a simple test file.Test.vwx
