2D point light symbol appearing in renders

AdrianW

Question

I am just learning VW23 rendering and notice that when adding a point or spot light, the crude 2d symbol appears in the final render / camera window (if it happens to be located within the desired view.   I wondered whether these symbols might be on a class I can switch off for rendering but then I expect the light effect will also switch off.   I've attached a screen shot to demonstrate the issue.  Any help welcomed please.

There is a 'Display Light Objects' setting in Display tab, Vectorworks Preferences which you can set to 'Only in Wireframe' or 'Never'. This can be set as a Quick Pref on the Tool Bar to make it easier to check/toggle your setting:

I've another query I'd love help with if anyone knows the answer:  The windows and doors I've taken from the resource manager appear to render very oddly in final renderwork ( it does not happen in shaded render).  See attached screen shots where I shown both a shaded render and Fast render version of same view.   Is this some setting for rendering glass as it seems to affect all glazing?  It's like a fish eye effect and very dark reflectance.

Similar to the display fix you provided above, how do you switch off the blue page grid when rendering?  See attached images.

it's the simple stuff that makes your day!, thanks!

Ha ha good! Out of interest when you say 'how do you turn off Light objects or the Grid when rendering', neither will display in viewports, or if you render direct from the design layer for that matter, so don't have to be turned off... But I guess you just want to view the scene as realistically as possible before creating the VP?
