No cast shadows on floor

Hi

Thank you to anyone who can help me here. I have a model with windows and an external light source. I can't get there to be cast shadows on the floor. I do have cast shadows set on the light as you can see.

Hello @TaniaD Is the floor a 2D object or a 3D object?  2D objects won't receive shadows in the rendering.

it is 3D as it has a thickness of 50mm

Is 'Use Shadows' enabled in Shaded Options?

Hi Dave, 

you are a star that was it. I did have cast shadows on (had to take a couple of screen shots so may not have done on that one) but not under "shaded options". I didn't know I had to look there as well. Thank you so much!

Dave can I possibly ask you another question. I have set up 2 cameras in my space, which is good for getting consistent angles. However if I want to stand in the space and spin round I find that they move physically and often end up outside of the room. What should I be doing instead?

If you use the walkthrough tool's "look around" mode I would expect the camera position to stay the same, you could try that.
