Living wall/ Green wall

Hi All,

I have read a couple of messages left regarding creating a green wall but no conclusive results as yet.

I am designing the interior for an office space where I would like to include a living wall/green wall. I did try to create this using Vectorworks plant models but non of them really looked completely correct.  My question is, what 3rd party resource companies are there that have 3D models suitable for use in Vectorworks and what file formats should I be looking for that will give me both 2D and 3D views and renders?

Many thanks

Ian

Have you tried using the Foliage Tool (Visualisation Tool Set)? To give it a 2D representation you could turn it into a hybrid symbol.

I have no idea about 3rd party resources but someone else might be able to help with that.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the suggestion. I was looking for a model rather than just a render texture. This may however be a work around just until I find something more suitable.

Many thanks

Hi Tom,

Sorry in my obvious inexperience I've not found these, they would be a great start, and cold add to them. Where do I find these?

Thanks

For the vertical garden, I suggest a vertical plane with a texture from your favorite PNG image (with alpha transparency) showing a mix of plants as occurs in many installations (especially in Europe).

The image you show, wisteria, looks unreal as the flowers do not grow horizontal, but hang vertically -

I agree with Benson that VW is missing an opportunity to market a multi disciplinary design program (even though there is an option to purchase the 'design suite', which contains all the VW products ?)

Just saw this on the VW blog + reminded me of this thread:

Do you have an example of this method @bob cleaver? I meant to ask at the time. I can see it working front-on but what happens when viewed side-on?

You can orientate the symbols within a Foliage object vertically - not sure why they looked horizontal in the earlier screenshots.
