Data Bar Options - Allow Numeric keypad entry for instant data bar activation

Hi all,

 

Since VW2023 installation I'm constantly seeing this option being turned off, I constantly change it to allow the use of the numeric keypad on the instant data bar, but with usually three or four restarts of the machine I have to turn it back on because it reverted back to the default...

 

Has anyone experiencing the same?

Yes, since a few years. Terrible.

 

Usually, at the same time it will also deactivate "Render Long" to reduced

Render Dropdown and a few other things in Top Bar.

Yes - it's infuriating. I've had it on other versions of VW too, seemingly totally random.

Do you also use custom Workspaces ?

Possibly even migrated over Versions ?

 

Otherwise corrupted Settings ?

I use a custom workspace yes.

 

Previously when I have mentioned this on the forum the advice has been:

 - close vectorworks

- open a blank vectorworks file

- change the setting

- close vectorworks

- reopen and begin working

 

I've done this but it's never really solved the problem once and for all. I also think that you shouldn't need to do this!

yes, we do randomly experience the same on macos (and custom workspace via shared folder on server, but this should be a user local preference not related to workspaces)

This happens to me with both situations, i usually do both and in both situations it happens and several different machines now either Windows or MacOS.

Good to know it is not necessarily about migrated settings or Workspaces.

As it would be a lot of work to recreate my Workspace from scratch.

(And as you can not examine or repair a Workspace in VW)

 

And from time to time I read on the Forum that other users regularly lose

their activation for Backups. Which looks far more severe, but thankfully

did not happen to me so far.
