Class and Layer Mapping Tables - Need a search field to be able to filter incoming classes, and find mapping class

shorter

Question

The Class Mapping dialog needs a search field, like the organisation and navigation palettes to be able to isolate specific classes to make the process of mapping classes a whole lot easier.

It would be really handy in situations where we have imported classes concatenated with the file name as per the frankly ridiculous AutoCAD system where DWG layers are prefixed with the xref name.  How AutoCAD came to define standards when like Revit it cannot comply with it's own standards, I will never know.

The concatentation means that if we receive a file X, comprising of 50 xrefs, each DWG layer is duplicated with the file name, e.g. A-DOOR-FULL is duplicated as A$0$A-DOOR-FULL, B$0$A-DOOR-FULL, C$0$A-DOOR-FULL, D$0$A-DOOR-FULL, etc, upt to n$0$A-DOOR-FULL.

Multiply this sorry situation by 50 or so DWG layers per file, and you kind of get the picture of the task at hand.

Still, once set up the Class Mapping table is one of the unsung heros in the Vectorworks CAD/BIM Manager's Arsenal.
