IFC-move z-height by reference elevation?

Hello

We us a Layer-bound setup with ground floor in height 0 and basements with negative values and floors above grade with positive values. 

Some cooperating consultant want our IFC model moved to actual z level. In the Export IFC dialog there is a reference elevation field to fill out but it doesn't do anything on export

 

Is it a simple way to move the model to the correct z-hight when exporting to IFC?

 

Especially with sites far from sea level its must more convenient to operate close to the origin

It would be nice if the  reference elevation field in the Export IFC dialog could have an option to move the Model to the right z-Hight on export.

Hi @Hans-Olav,

 

You can shift your model by using the Data Manager:

- Invoke Tools -> Data Manager;

- Type IfcSite in Objects box;

- Select IfcSite in the list below;

- In the middle list (below IFC Data Sets), expand IfcSite;

- Double-click on RefElevation - Define Mapping dialog will be shown;

- From the popups, select Fixed value (Real) and type the desired vertical offset in mm (can be negative, if you have to dive your model);

- Click OK, then again OK to save and close Data Manager and export your model;

I just wanted to know if there is some similar function to rotate the model on export?

If the building is aligned with the page, is it possible to rotate the model about origin to true north on export?

Hi @Hans-Olav,

Sorry, there is no function for rotation - it can be done manually in IFC file directly (search for placement of the IFCSITE second vector (RefX) and replace the default (1., 0.) with the calculated vector.
