Extraneous lines

Question

When I try to draw a cabinet face frame with openings for the doors by using the rectangle tool (creating the face and punching the holes with other rectagles for the door openings) using the "clip surface" command, I get extra lines centered above & below the openings after I follow up with the extrude command. They show when the drawing is rendered as well. Is there a way to get rid of these lines? Or, do I need to use a different approach?

Cadfael:

There is a bug in the Clip Surface portion of VectorWorks that is being looked into regarding this. The approach you should take to eliminate this problem is to extrude your objects and use the Subtract Solid command and not use the clip surface at all. This will work for you and not create the extraneous lines.
