Lynda
I want my 2d image (mapped to a 2d poly) to be visible behind my 3d objects on the same layer. However, the image always appears on top of any 3d objects when rendered in its own layer. When placed on a separate layer and layer linked the 2d image disappears with only the 3d visible. This is in top view. Is it possible to have 2d and 3d images rendered together with the 3d on top? Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
Lynda - try rendering them onto 3D polys which are place where you want them in the 'scene'. Quote Link to comment
Kaare Baekgaard
Lynda: No - I have tried the same and not been successful, but there are ways around it: 1. Import the image as a renderworks background. Remember, that the scale of background images are 1:1, when setting the size. With this method, you cannot control the precise location of the 2D image - it will allways center on the page. 2. Use viewports. You van stack them anyway you want. To get the white areas of the 3D rendering transparent, chose the viewport and set the colour to transparent in the atributes palette. 3. Mikes method. Quote Link to comment
