smak
Hi All, Our office has been utilizing Plant Tools for a few months now, and we're loving the efficiencies--automatic plant schedules, data tags, etc. Up to this point, we've been making each plant style individually, and slowly adding to a shared workgroup library. Knowing that we are going to utilize this workflow, I'd like to create new plant symbols/styles for every plant that we will likely use as an office. We don't need much information associated with the plants--just Latin Name, Common Name, Category, Spread, Height, Spacing, Scheduled Size, and (1) Comment Field. We have a master Excel spreadsheet with all of this plant data already-- I've worked through the steps in the "Creating Plant Styles from the Plant Catalog," (link below) including reformatting our master Excel spreadsheet to match the field mapping from VW. https://app-help.vectorworks.net/2022/eng/VW2022_Guide/Plants1/Creating_plant_styles from_the_plant_catalog.htm?agt=index https://app-help.vectorworks.net/2023/eng/VW2023_Guide/Plants1/Importing_plant_catalog_data_from_a_spreadsheet.htm#h My issue specifically revolves around setting the spread and spacing of the Plant Style from the spreadsheet/Plant Catalog. There doesn't appear to be fields dedicated to spread or spacing in the Plant Catalog--I can edit the plant spacing from the "More Plant Style Settings..." but the spread and spacing don't seem to be linked to any data from the Plant Catalog. I know I'm missing something here--is there a way to create new Plant Styles that include spread and spacing from a spreadsheet? Thanks, Steve 1 Quote Link to comment
SometimesWorks
Did you have any luck with this one, Steve? I've come up against the same wall and am not keen on hours and hours of data entry either. 1 Quote Link to comment
