ArenaLights
I am using versin 9.01 I am having trouble with reinporting data from lightwrite after I have exported it edited it and reimported. I am using the external ID as the manual says . the program counts throught the lights and then a message saying that all lights were not updated, and the ones that were not updated would be selected. Each unit on the plot was selected. Probly a stupid mistake, but I have tried a few things and still have been having trouble. Thank You Tlaloc Lopez-Watermann Arena Stage Washington D.C. kacey1
Appendix D of the manual talks about how to work with Lightwright-make sure you follow the directions exactly. We have not been able to duplicate any importing bugs here in our office. Some things to make sure you are doing: *Make sure you import the correct file-often a user mistakenly imports the VW Export file as opposed to the LW export file. *Make sure you export the external ID field from LW. Sometimes it helps to take a look at your data in excel or a text editor to make sure your LW export was good. It may be that you didn't get the external ID field and UID Field matched up when you first imported data into Lightwright. You can view the external ID field in LW by adding that as a column in the worksheet view. If these values are blank then the UID from SpotLight didn't make it into Lightwright. Jim_Allen
Kacey, I checked and the ID info is in LW. Still no updating and no orphans on the plot. I emailed you the plot and the Lw file. Quote Link to comment

I had the same importing problem and have discovered that the import first record box in the import inst data box should be unchecked not checked as the manual shows. There seems to be a mistake in the manual. I also discovered that for me I have to keep the legends data unlinked to avoid messing up the instrument legends upon importing. ArenaLights
The problem was that I had not linked the external ID with UID. It works really great now. Thank You!!!!!:-)) Quote Link to comment
