Spotlight - Safelock Skirt

Greetings. Would love if the safe lock stands for projectors had an ability to add a skirt around them. I can't for the life of me remember the last time I used one that didn't. Currently using the curtain tool to try to replicate but doesn't really have the same effect.

The stands are Symbols that are stored in Resource folders or in your working file.  Until versions with skirts can be added, simply add that to a duplicate of one of the existing Symbols - perhaps, using something like Multiple Extrude.

That Safelock table legs make that an iffy bet at best I think. Drape Surface is not that smart…

this was with 200 x 200 UV

 

ran the command, clipped the bottom

 

would be rad if it could be shelled (exterior) and/or converted to subD

actually that may have been 100 x 100 UV (whatever works)

I did not change the UV and so it defaulted to 2x2 and I got the poor result I got!

and i think there is a way to convert to SubD but it's a multi step workflow that includes interpolated nurbs surfaces or something... a rabbit hole for another day
