APE Design Ctr
Is there any good reason why in VW, my viewport renderings are up to 5 times slower than if I render a similar scene in Cinema 4D? Geometry calculation? Software issue? THanks Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
For some reason rendering in VW has always been slow when compared to other 3D applications like ArchiCad, FormZ, Amapi etc. I would really love to know what the issue is. Quote Link to comment
AndyM
The rendering engine that RW uses is very old and basic. Cinema's is regularly updated, optimised for current hardware and one of the fastest available anywhere. Quote Link to comment
LarryAZ
I've got a simular question. Why does it only take a couple of minutes to final render in the design layer but as a view port it takes a couple hours to render. Same data same machine same view. What's up with that???? CipesDesign
Larry, it has to do with the resolution setting of a sheet layer, which is user defined in the LAYERS setup. Quote Link to comment
APE Design Ctr
Good question from LarryAZ. I can export an image file to a BMP, or JPG at 300 dpi, and it is still way quicker than rendering a viewport at 100 dpi. Quote Link to comment
Bart Rammeloo
Eddie: please compare the real resolution (real pixel size) of your export to the real resolution of your viewport image. Cheers, BaRa Quote Link to comment
LarryAZ
Your right on the speed issue Peter. I had it set to 150dpi. It's amazing that it takes 10x plus time to render from the default setting of 72dpi. Thanks Quote Link to comment
