amyc
Is there a way to draw a polygon (6-8 sided shapes) to the exact angles you want as you draw it? Eg. Draw a straight line then click to draw the next line, which I want to be at 65degrees to the previous line, then the next line to be at 120degrees etc . Issue being the angles shown in the drawing window are relative to xy axis rather than in relation to the line I just drew so I have no control over the angles I am creating as I go. Any way to change this???? Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Are these regular polygons? Or just with known angles? For regular polygons, use the Regular Polygon tool and just set the number of sides you need. For known angles, if this is something you would use often, then it is probably scriptable as a custom tool. 1 Quote Link to comment
markdd
Yes, use the data bar and enter the correct angle you need. You can set angles to be relative to the last point from the angle snaps setttings in the snaps palette. 3 Quote Link to comment
Kevin Allen
using the Polygon tool, not the regular polygon tool, draw a line and mid stroke, use the tab key to activate the floating data bar. Enter lengths and angles in the Floating Data Bar (aka FDB). You may need to tab around the FBD to activate the fields you need. 1 Quote Link to comment
TomKen
I just tried what @markdd said. Relative angle can be set from the angle snap settings or toggled on and off with the forward slash key. I learnt something new today, Yay! 1 Quote Link to comment
