hollister design Studio
I've been getting this lately. Doubled class names in the OIP: They tend to happen with newly created classes and go away with time or with a restart. Quote Link to comment
0 Pat Stanford
If it doesn't go away it is probably that there is a space or other invisible character at the end of one of the class names. Or that one of the classes is named with an en-dash and one with an em-dash or hyphen. I have not ever seen this. Quote Link to comment
0 Andy Broomell
I’ve seen this a number of times over the last several years, and like mentioned above it’s always right after creating a new class. But occurrences are fairly rare and I’m not sure what other factors cause it to happen. Restarting seems to always fix. It’s definitely one class listed twice. I seem to remember trying to delete one and both instances went away, indicating it’s a duplicate listing. Edited October 15, 2022 by Andy Broomell 1 Quote Link to comment
0 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Katarina Ollikainen Posted October 15, 2022 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted October 15, 2022 I've filed your comments in jira so the engineers can have a look at it. 1 Quote Link to comment
0 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Katarina Ollikainen Posted October 15, 2022 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted October 15, 2022 Do you possible have the file available so I can add it to the jira? (Don't know if it would show anything, but just in case) Quote Link to comment
0 hollister design Studio
@Katarina Ollikainen the "doubling up" disappears after a restart of VW (or just after a couple of minutes of ignoring it...) - so the last file I had it happen to no longer exhibits the issue. Like Andy said It happens VERY occasionally - I only posted because it had just happened, and I thought you might want to know. Quote Link to comment
0 Andy Broomell
If this happens in the future, is there anything we can do in Vectorworks to help "catch" the issue before restarting the program? Some sort of log that an engineer could view and perhaps start to deduce what steps had lead to the issue? Quote Link to comment
