Trying to create a site model crashes the program

Chuck97

Question

For a bit of context: I just downloaded Vectorworks 2023. I was using a Mac Mini for a while, but just recently got a Mac Studio for more RAM. I thought this increase in memory would help with some of the problems I was having, but still when I try to create a site model from source data, the Vectorworks app closes out and I get a pop-up prompting me to send a report to Apple and reopen the program. Has anyone else had this problem? I had no such trouble making site models in Vectorworks 2022.

Could your source geometry have a crazy number of vertices?  Or geometry that overlaps itself?

Does it work on simpler geometry.

If you post the source file here we can take a look at it.  I often use the simplify commands to make source geometry simpler before creating the DTM.  It makes it faster with fewer micro triangles.
