neurain
Is it possible to resize the fixtures in the vision? I wonder if there is a way to set an arbitrary scale and make it smaller. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee TomWhiteLight Posted October 14, 2022 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted October 14, 2022 No, The fixtures are real world sized, you would need to do this in Vectorworks prior to export to vision. You can replace the fixtures in vision for smaller and more compact units. I would not recommend scaling manufacturers content as it would no longer be accurate. 2 Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted October 14, 2022 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted October 14, 2022 It's sort of possible using a DMX transform node in Vision and scaling using DMX controls but my real question is why do you want to resize a fixture. Scaling will not change the optics or lens of the fixture. As Tom said it would be better to use a different fixture that is the correct size. 2 Quote Link to comment
neurain
I didn't ask because of other issues, but I was told that there are limitations to practical lighting. So, the idea was that if the scale of the lighting provided by the current vision was reduced and installed on the set, it would be possible to solve it. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee TomWhiteLight Posted October 17, 2022 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted October 17, 2022 Are you talking about LED Tape? Quote Link to comment
neurain
I'm talking about your LED tape. There is a situation where you need an asset that can be partially turned on as a pixel type. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee TomWhiteLight Posted October 18, 2022 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted October 18, 2022 Yes, and we have a fixture for that. It's the generic 8mm led that can be found in this list, There are others that might be more applicable in this list. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee TomWhiteLight Posted October 18, 2022 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted October 18, 2022 You will need to scroll down in this list. But the generic folder is the place to look. Quote Link to comment
neurain
Confirmation is required. It may be my greed, but the strip-type LED tape is different from the actual expression. For example, the Martin VDO Sceptron 10 (320mm/1m) looks different from real lighting because it doesn't affect the real environment. In fact, what I want is to influence the surroundings like an LED Bar. (Of course the light on the VDO will be soft though.) Edited October 20, 2022 by neurain Quote Link to comment
