hadland
Apologies if this is a known problem - I have searched around but maybe haven't found the right combination of keywords to show the answer. I've got a drawing containing 3D polygons - the polygons represent a convoluted surface and adjacent polygons meet along the shared edge. When I render this using open gl or fast RW I get the expected results, but final quality RW shows flat plans which do not meet. I've played with mappings and various other options for textures but can't seem to find a solution - any options? Thanks in advance Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Dave Donley Posted August 31, 2004 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted August 31, 2004 Hello hadland: Please send me the file if you can at dave@nemetschek.net Are these 3D polygons planar or nonplanar? The renderer cannot reliably handle nonplanar polygons (you can't get consistent results). Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Dave Donley Posted August 31, 2004 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted August 31, 2004 Hello All: The problem file had non-planar 3D polygons in it. Tip: An easy way to triangulate 3D polygons rather than doing it by hand is to export them out to DXF with the triangulate option on, then re-import them. Quote Link to comment
