Paperwork problem

Recommended Posts

I am working on my first plot with Spotlight 8.5.2 (am waiting for the upgrade) and am having some problems with the paperwork functions. I now have it creating the instrument schedule after a bit of fussing but I cannot get it to a dimmer or channel schedule. On a dimmer schedule it will give me the right number of rows, all blank except for the 8 instrument that are not assigned to a channel or dimmer and they are in rows 88-95. There are 129 instruments in the plot and all but those 8 have channel and dimmer information which does appear in the instrument schedule and the object information pane. Where do I look to find what is wrong?

2 other questions:

1. Can you resize the row number column on a worksheet?

2. Is it possible to set a different default instrument spacing for the align and distribute tool?

Thanks

8.5.2 had some issues when creating a schedule with blank fields. I.e. that is creating a dimmer schedule with any blank dimmer fields. This has since been fixed.

As for resizing the worksheet, you can modify that to your heart's content. Please see the VectorWorks manual on working with worksheets.

I'll have to check on the align and distribute tool, but I do not believe that you can change the default. If not, I'll add it as a wish list item.

I have gotten the dimmer schedule to work by entering a "0" in the dimmer and channel fields. As to resizing the row number column (the leftmost column), it won't work in the worksheet window. If you embed the worksheet in the drawing, this column doesn't show but then you lose the ability to print it in pages.

The row height is VectorWorks worksheets is automatically determined by the font sizes present in the row. If you want more space in a row you can add a column to the worksheet and select a cell in the row you wish to enlarge. Change the font size for this cell, and the entire row will grow. You can also select the entire column to resize all of the row heights. You can then shrink this new column down to zero column width so that it won't appear on either the drawing or when you print.

I think this width is set automatically. You can turn off this column in the worksheet preferences dialog. Which is found under the little arrow button on the worksheet window.

I checked the prefernce dialog and did not see this either. I believe as Kevin originally posted the only way to change the size of this column is through the font size.

This column can be turned off under the Worksheet preferences. Click the little downward pointing arrow button in a worksheet and choose Worksheet preferences. Turn off the option to "show tabs" and the row and column headers won't be printed out with your paperwork.
