Graphic Legend Question

I am trying to create a "Piece Sheet" layout of certain 3d objects in a model of a railing assembly, using the graphic legend function.  (Don't judge the design....)

The model is composed of a mix of generic solids  There are also hybrid objects such as framing members.  When attempting to create a graphic legend, I can identify all the objects via a custom record format designation that I have created.  However, when I try to create a visual image, it appears that only the hybrid objects display.

Is there no way to report out the remaining types of objects?  Or does this tool only work with hybrid objects?  I checked the help and could not find any information about this dialogue box.

I am not sure I fully understand the definitions highlighted below. Would a symbol be considered a hybrid object?

Each of these 3d objects is tagged with a record format.

I just did something similar to what you are trying to achieve, but everything was a symbol. The symbols did not necessarily have a record attached. I am not recalling if they were all hybrid or a mix of hybrid and 3D.

It was an imperfect process, and I think my graphic legends each wound up as several graphic legends grouped together. Different visibilities in each legend. It was trial and error and I didn't document the process.

I have 12 types of pieces in this model.  And see 12 cells that are sorted through the piece numbers.  But only the VW hybrid objects show up.

It also appears that view characteristics are not specific to the cell.  Maybe I haven't figured this out, but it would be great to see some cells in plan, others in elevation.  Right now the controls are universal.

I got it.  You need to make the object a symbol and reattach the record format. It looks like the views are not able to be set per cell.  So if you want a series of plan views, you need to set one type of graphic legend.  And if you want a series of elevation views you need another graphic legend type.
