Importing From Archicad

Is there some specific way that files should be exported from Archicad to be able to import into Vectoworks?

Currently the DWG file from Archicad comes in as a series of symbols and shapes that need to be exploded to work with. I would like the file to come in with the wall assembly intact.

Perhaps a sample wall from the ArchiCAD project?  there may be other formats like IFC that can get you what you want...Is this 3D or just 2D linework?

thank you for the response, this is just 2d Line work that we are trying to bring in.

Attached is a file with the archicad file imported, I can work with it but it becomes a bit more cumbersome in plan when everything is a different symbol.

@mattryan, In Vectorworks 2023 you could explode all the blocks during the DWG import. In this way you will not receive any symbol definitions, just the line work.

 

I exported the attached by you document to DWG and then re-imported it in Vectorworks 2023, choosing to explode all blocks. Then I saved it as a Vectorworks 2020 file. I believe you could use this document instead of the attached by you.
