Object Browser (ETC Symbols)

Recommended Posts

We just upgraded to version 9.0 and have run into a problem with the object browser and ETC symbols specificly.

After importing symbols into the drawing we see the symbols in the object browser, but when we try to insert the symbol the only symbol that will insert iteslf is the one labeled ETC Source 4 body or any altman instrument that we used last.

We tried to use various symbols from various libraries and have run into the problem continuously. We also tried it in the older version and did not have the problem.

Please Help

Thank You :-)

I was able to duplicate your problem with the ETC library in SpotLight 9.01 for Windows, but strangely enough couldn't duplicate the problem on the Mac. I don't know of anything special or fancy about that library that should cause it to fail to be inserted from the object browser. I'll look at the ETC library and see if there is something that can be changed to make this work.

In the meantime inserting these symbols from the resources palette as either instruments or simple symbols seems to work fine.

The problem with inserting the Source 4 symbols from the object browser is the result of a bug in the object browser on windows. The degree sybmol in the name of the symbol is preventing it from working. Rename the symbols and they should insert just fine. This has been buglisted and will be addressed in a future release.
