azizg
In the object mapping pallette would it be possible to add a slider that would allow variations? I.E. a slider for colour, a slider reflection. Not terribly deatailed options but some thing that would allow you to use the same texture on multiple objects and have each one be a slightly different shade. I.E. if you make a piece of furniture and each element is made from the same timber, in the real world each piece would be different, but in vectorworks it currently looks like it's been hewn from a single piece of wood. Guest
VW Render Works 11 offers something like this. YOu can select the object you want, and right in the OIP, you can edit the textures various resources. There are sliders in the palette that allow you to resize, rotate, and change many other settings. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Dave Donley Posted June 15, 2004 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted June 15, 2004 Hello azizg: Textures are resources, so you have to create or modify them to get multiple variations of a given texture. RW 11 makes this a little easier to do; there is a Duplicate and Edit Texture menu on the Object Info palette that lets you more quickly duplicate an existing texture that is applied to an object. Then you can tweak the shade or reflectivity for that one object. Quote Link to comment
