Hmmh,

I tried that already recently.

But after setting highres, upscaling the (large right) Preview Area

did not make my Preview any highres or larger - as I criticized and

am used to since implementation of the RM.

Will test again ....

It allows you to select multiple resources + edit the previews en masse, i.e. set the view + render mode, rather than pre-2023 doing them one by one which was very boring...

Also note that if you are rendering your large previews using shaded you can gain a little quality buy switching your shaded options to High or Very High quality. It is marginal and it does not make the image bigger but there is a little difference. If you have draw edges on the preview will also draw those edges and in such a small window it can muddy the image.

I tried again and "highressed" the Symbols inside my File.

And VW took quite some beach balling time to create highres Thumbnails.

But where at all can I access or look at the highres Thumbnails ?

If I am not wrong that highres option is not available for Materials

(called RW Textures) or Textures (Image Textures) ?

Which are not legible if you search for in the libraries.

Everywhere else (Linux, Mac, C4D, Modo, .... I am used to either

just increase the preview window size or have a slider for thumbnail

sizing. And usually until the max original Image Size or by openeing

a separate preview Window.

^. How did you do that ?

RM, for me just shows the pre VW 2023 behavior.

I Increase my preview Window in X direction.

Thumbnail rises until it hits Y limit,

I increase Y direction,

Thumbnail maxes out to max Thumbnail size.

And any further increasing of Preview pane,

Thumbnail will stay in the middle of the large pane

but not increase size.

Which is the typical (feels like) 256x256 pixel.

Does highres only work for online library elements, to be

saved in RM cache ?

Other than the three new 'Hi-Res' commands in the right-click menu which basically duplicate the drop-downs on the preview pane but now allow you to apply changes to more than one resource at a time, I don't think anything else has changed. The preview itself - size + resolution - look exactly the same to me. But the new right-click commands are very welcome.

This is spot on.

There are new commands to update the high-res thumbnail in the preview pane for multiple resources at once, but nothing else has changed.

Is this Mac-only? I am not seeing the ability to update multiple resource thumbnails at once in Windows...only one at a time. Am I just missing it?

@Bret - it's only for Symbols, and will be available when you have only Symbols selected.

You could try filtering the RM to only show Symbols/Plug-In Objects using the dropdown at the top of the RM, then try again.

Thanks - I did indeed have a non-symbol in my selection, and I was just able to successfully bulk-update thumbnails.
